Doc3 is a professional CAT tool solution spun off from an internal CAT tool. The concept builds on 40 years of experience in producing and delivering technical translation.
The idea behind Doc3 is to offer a free CAT tool that can process all standard translation file formats to any and all translators around the world.
We also believe that professional translators should have access to affordable CAT tools that don’t break their budget.
In addition to the free version of Doc3, we offer Doc3 Pro, a comprehensive, yet affordable subscription that includes everything a professional translator will need: Private Cloud Storage, Real-time Translation QA, the Doc3 MT Engine, and online Translation Memory Management.
Doc3 has been developed by a team of programmers in Prague, Czech Republic. It was first launched in 2011 as a Windows app under the name iQube. Indeed, this CAT tool has been thoroughly tested and improved over the years. For example, translators and reviewers of an international LSP, idioma s.r.o., have been using the solution for over a decade.
Since idioma s.r.o. as well as its parent company idioma Co., Ltd. adhere to ISO 9001 quality management certification and data control conforming to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), these principles are present in Doc3 too. Moreover, thanks to using cloud-hosted servers, translators worldwide can work in a highly secure environment that prevents data leakage.
The current Doc3 version takes over all the functionality and smart features of the original version. Basically, the only difference is that the CAT tool is now a browser app that can run on any platform. It works on a PC, a Macbook, a tablet, even your smartphone.
To use Doc3, you need to set up an account by entering some basic information. After that you can use the free CAT tool as much as you want. We host your account in the cloud on secure servers in Europe in full compliance with the GDPR legislation.
